Artino makes comeback with explosive Cool Kawina single "Gitara"

Artino Oldenstam makes his long-awaited comeback with an explosive new Cool Kawina sound. With the single "Gitara," Artino returns to the music scene after years of silence. The track, written by John van Coblijn, not only marks his artistic rebirth but also introduces an entirely new dimension to his distinctive sound. Artino, known for the SuriPop song "Law Mi" and multiple collaborations with renowned Surinamese artists, disappeared from the spotlight in recent years. "I needed time to grow, both as a person and as an artist," the singer explains. "With this sound, I hope to embark on a new path."

The new single, produced by Nano Wilson of CRW Productions and written by John van Coblijn, puts Suriname and Cool Kawina on the map. The result reflects the rhythm of Suriname and Surinamese songs dressed in a contemporary new jacket. "We should be proud of our Surinamese identity, our uniqueness, striving for quality and letting the world hear this too," says John van Coblijn. "An international collaboration from different continents preceded this."

The track features a guest contribution from guitarist Johnny Fonseca from Cape Verde, who virtuously performs his guitar playing. The final mix and mastering of the song were handled by sound engineer and Surinamese Serge Tsai, residing in America. There has also been support from the Netherlands from Surinamese circles. "Among others, Glenn Gaddum Sr. supported us by pointing us to guitarist Fonseca," according to Van Coblijn.

The accompanying video was created by Young Mike Productions from Suriname, with Freestyle Entertainment providing the choreography.

"Gitara" by Artino Oldenstam is available from today on all streaming platforms.
